WELCOME
For more than 130 years, Fergus Falls schools have prepared students
for success. It
wasn't always easy. The very first classes were held in what had to be an "aromatic"
horse barn on the Ottertail River and only a month after starting, the first
teacher eloped! More than one school has burned down and sometimes the various
native languages such as Norwegian and German made teaching more difficult.
But the love for the schools has also
shown through these many years. Even now, with new challenges, budget concerns
and an uncertain world, people realize the value of a Fergus Falls Public School
education.
The 544 Education Foundation's goal is to help meet some of those challenges
with your help. The Foundation, incorporated as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) in
September of 2000, provides additional resources to make more future success
stories.
The Foundation's priority is students. It doesn't
get more basic than that.
If you're a graduate or friend of Fergus Falls High School, welcome! Look around,
make contacts, give us feedback or your news and please consider joining
the Foundation. Memberships help keep us going; larger gifts can make a difference in the life of a child.

The current middle school (which will be the "new" middle school and high school) will be called the Kennedy Secondary School. For the complete story, please see the Wednesday, May 28th Daily Journal at www.fergusfallsjournal.com.
