$175 to the Family and Consumer Science Department to purchase fabric to make drawstring bags. The bags will be made by the 7th graders and then donated to Someplace Safe.
$200 to the Fergus Falls Post Prom for prizes and auction and raffle items
$293 for students in grades 6-8 to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee Program
$300 to a 2nd grade class for stability balls. The stability balls will replace the chairs students sit in.
$393.71 to purchase a water faucet, wheelbarrow, seeds and plants, additional flower boxes, and a sign for the Otter Garden
$500 for Kinderstart Preschool scholarships for the 2008-2009 school year
$500 to help cover expenses for the Senior Recognition Banquet and Hall of Fame Night
$525 to sponsor the internet broadcasts of basketball and hockey games
$541.70 for a 4th grade classroom set of stability balls. Research indicates that stability balls improve attention, discipline, concentration, and posture.

$866 for the EBD (Emotional and/or Behavioral Disabilities) classroom to purchase four iPods, a speaker, and two microphones. These items will be used for academic and behavior therapy applications.
$950 for two iPods and one flip video recorder for a Prairie Wetlands Science Class project. Students will be creating video and audio walking tours of the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center.
$1000 for the Fergus Falls Reads Program to purchase books
$1000 for Kinderstart Preschool scholarships for the 2009-2010 school year
$1000 for continued homework help in grades 6-12
$1200 to help with expenses for the marching band's trip to Washington, DC for President Obama's Inaugural Parade
$1136.50 to the 3rd grade classes for materials needed for their science investigations at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center 
$2250 will go towards the purchase of a pugmill for the Art Department. The pugmill will recycle clay that would otherwise be thrown away.
$2400 for the purchase of two laptop computers for the Response to Intervention (RtI) Program. The RtI Program provides reading and math instruction to students who need additional support to succeed in the general education environment. One of the laptops will also be going to China with Cindy Skalsky in early November. She will be communicating with elementary classrooms and community members throughout the trip.
$3000 was also given to the district to help fund the Communications Liason position. This person coordinates community involvement, updates the school district website, and writes news releases.

FYE 6/30/10

$198 for the district to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee Program
$200 for two portable keyboards for the Area Learning Center's music department
$284.98 for an iPod, hard drive, and accessories for the music department
$300 for a chemistry field trip to the Skills and Technology Training Center in Fargo, ND
$350 for a Cricut Expression machine for the Secondary School

$500 for special education students at the high school to operate a dog biscuit business called “Otter Bites – Dog Cookie Delights.”  The students will be involved in all aspects of the business, from handling the finances to making and packaging the dog biscuits.

$500 to purchase books for the Fergus Falls Reads Program

$500 to implement a program called “Family All Ways.”  This program will help middle school students who have parents who are divorced or are in the process of getting divorced.

$500 for supplies and cartridges for the Cricut Expression machine at McKinley Elementary School.  This machine cuts out letters, numbers, and pictures for bulletin boards, learning centers, and educational manipulative.
$500 to fund a trumpet clinician/guest soloist

$500 to cover expenses for the Senior Recognition Banquet/Hall of Fame Night

$520 for two welding helmets for the Vocational Department

$750 for math workbooks for the Response to Intervention (RtI) Program.  The RtI Program provides reading and math instruction to students who need additional support to succeed in the general education environment.
$1000 for the Close-Up Program’s trip to Washington, DC.  The money will be used as scholarships for those students who aren’t able to fund the entire trip themselves.
